Endometriosis South Coast is an inclusive charity set up to support people who haven’t started their diagnosis journey, are going through the diagnosis stages, or have been diagnosed with Endometriosis and/or Adenomyosis. We are also here for friends, family, and cheerleaders of the people who have to jump through hoops to get started on the diagnosis pathway.

The role
What will you be doing?
As the Treasurer (Trustee) for ESC, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring financial sustainability, and maintaining transparent financial reporting. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees and leadership team to provide strategic financial guidance that supports ESC’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
- Ensure that ESC operates within its financial means and maintains a strong financial position.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to align with the charity’s strategic goals.
- Monitor cash flow and financial risks, advising the Board of Trustees on mitigation strategies.
Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure financial policies and procedures comply with legal, regulatory, and charity governance requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial reports, including Charity Commission filings.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and regulators to ensure financial compliance.
Reporting & Accountability:
- Present clear and accurate financial reports to the Board of Trustees, ensuring transparency in decision-making.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic planning and organisational growth.
- Keep the Board informed of financial risks, opportunities, and required actions.
Fundraising & Resource Management:
- Support fundraising efforts by ensuring financial sustainability and accountability for grants and donations.
- Oversee the management of restricted and unrestricted funds to maximise impact.
- Advise on investment and resource allocation to achieve long-term stability.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Work closely with the Chair, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership to support financial decision-making.
- Provide financial guidance and training to trustees and key stakeholders to enhance financial literacy.
- Promote a culture of financial responsibility and sustainability across ESC.
What are we looking for?
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong financial acumen with experience in finance, accounting and tax regulations, or charity financial management.
- Prior experience as a Treasurer, Finance Manager, or Accountant, preferably within the charity sector.
- Understanding of charity financial governance, including Charity Commission regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Strong negotiation, decision-making and leadership skills
- Excellent knowledge of the investment market, the stock market, and the various methods of raising capital.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in an accessible manner.
- A commitment to ESC’s mission of raising awareness and supporting individuals affected by endometriosis.
