Who we are
YMCA Henley is a well-established charity founded in 1857. Today as a Registered Provider of Social Housing, YMCA Henley provides affordable housing for young people via 31 self-contained studio apartments and flats. Along with “The Y-Centre” providing community activities via the purpose built pavilion and sporting activities based mainly around football. At a junior level on a grass surface via a partnership , and at adult level on a floodlit all weather playing surface.
The role
Using their acquired financial knowledge and experience the Honorary Treasurer will work with the Finance Manger to oversee the financial affairs of the organisation ensuring they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.
Ensuring the work being undertaken meets the standards required by the Charity Commission and the Regulator of Social Housing. Including reviewing the production by staff of financial reports, returns, and first draft statutory accounts.
Chairing meetings of the Finance and Development Committee who monitor and report to the Trustee Board quarterly.
Liaison if necessary with the Independent External Financial Examiner to finalise the statutory accounts for presentation and acceptance by the Trustee Board.
