Who we are
We deliver services across London and the surrounding regions, as well as campaign and advocate nationally on the issues that affect the people we work with. For 55 years, Hestia has stood alongside adults and children in crisis to help people who have experienced crisis and trauma find safety, hope, and purpose. Today, we support over 22,600 adults and children each year across London and the South East – more about our work can be found at www.hestia.org
The role
At Hestia, we support adults and children who have experienced crisis and trauma, to find safety, hope and purpose.
We specialise in trauma and resilience informed support for people in crisis or who have experienced trauma – including people needing support with their mental health, survivors of modern slavery, adults and children escaping domestic abuse, and people leaving prison. We foster trusting relationships at crucial moments in their recovery, that empower individuals to build a life beyond crisis.
Guided by the reality of our service users’ experience, we bring their voice to the attention of policy makers, partners and communities and use our insight to push for the change that matters.
To help us in our work, we are looking for a Trustee with a strong background in health and social care to join our committed Board and help guide our mission to transform lives.
We are committed to increasing the representation of people from ethnically diverse communities on our Board of Trustees. Strengthening the diversity of our leadership is essential to ensuring that our organisation reflects the communities we serve, benefits from a wider range of perspectives, and makes more inclusive and informed decisions.
