Who we are
An independent charity founded over 40 years ago, the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) works with schools, education leaders and practitioners to improve provision for more able learners. We believe that through a focus on meeting the needs of more able learners, and embedding an ethos and culture of high expectations for all, schools can ensure all young people have opportunities to flourish.
The role
To support NACE in its strategic objectives and advancing its plans for the future, we are seeking a Finance Trustee to join the Association’s Board. Applicants will need a strong background in finance, a passion for public service, sufficient time to dedicate to the role, and a desire to positively impact the lives of young people. Whilst an interest in or knowledge of education is desirable, it is not a pre-requisite.
The role includes holding the executive leaders of NACE to account, contributing to the strategic direction of the organisation, and ensuring that resources are deployed to achieve maximum effectiveness and that financial sustainability underpins all activities and operations that NACE undertakes.
The Trustees meet four times each year as a Board. Trusteeship is a voluntary, unpaid role, but if you are motivated by the opportunity to make a real contribution to enhancing the educational achievement of young people, you will find the work extremely rewarding. Beyond attendance at four Board meetings per year, we anticipate this role is unlikely to take up more than half a day per month.
