Who we are

South Asian Arts‑UK (SAA‑uk) is a Leeds‑based charity and centre of excellence celebrating, teaching, and evolving South Asian classical music and dance. We deliver weekly academies, concerts, festivals, community engagement and education programmes that nurture talent, foster cultural pride, and make high‑quality artistic experiences accessible to all. By preserving tradition and inspiring creativity, we enrich communities and champion South Asian arts across the UK and beyond.


The role

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from both emerging professionals and experienced leaders. We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in:
– Fundraising (especially individual giving)
– Capital Development
– HR and/or Legal expertise
– Interest in Performing Arts Education (non-formal)
– Strong knowledge of the UK arts sector and cultural policy landscape

Step 2: Email your completed application form HERE (including CV upload and 2 Referee Contacts). If you cannot upload your CV, email it to gaia@saa-uk.org with the subject: “Trustee Application – [Your Name]”
Step 3: If shortlisted, attend a 30–45 minute interview with: the Chair or Vice-Chair, one Trustee, and one senior staff member.

Join one of our sessions and get a behind-the-scenes look at how our Board works.

– Online group/one-to-one “Let’s Talk Board!” sessions (20–30 minutes), on the week starting 19 January 2026 — a friendly chat with some Board Member facilitated by the Senior Administration Officer, including a brief introduction to Board responsibilities and plenty of time for your questions. Interest is indicated directly in the application form!

– In-person sessions at the office — available on request during the week commencing 26 January 2026. We only schedule these if requested to make it manageable for our Trustees.

Interview Panel Composition: Chair/Vice-Chair + 1 Trustee + 1 senior staff member.

Deadline: Applications close 6 February 2026

Shortlisting completed: Week commencing 10th February 2026
Interviews held: 17–27th February 2026
