Who we are

TACO! (Thamesmead Arts and Culture Office) artist-led organisation and registered charity supporting research, production, and exchange in Thamesmead, South East London. We aim to foster artists and art practices as viable, valued, and vital to creative communities, a progressive civic society, and the realisation of shared equitable futures. Conceived as an ongoing, embedded and socially engaged artistic enquiry, TACO! explores art can be and do.


The role

TACO!’s board of Trustees is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of TACO! and is critical to ensuring the long-term artistic, social and financial sustainability of TACO!

We are seeking individuals who would like to make a difference by volunteering their skills, experience, ideas and passion to the development of TACO! and help steer its future course.

We are particularly interested in Trustees who have one or more of the following to contribute

• Are passionate and committed to contemporary art, art practices, artists, and the visual arts ecology.

• Can bring diverse representation, lived experiences, and professional perspectives to TACO! and its board.

•Have knowledge and experience of working strategically for Children and Young People in either cultural, educational, or social settings.

•Have knowledge and experience of working to deliver social change and impact, a stronger civil society, and community organising.

•Have knowledge and experience of public communications, PR, marketing, and positioning within the fields of arts and culture.
