The Role
We are seeking a Chair to lead the Board of Trustees.
The Chair will guide the foundation through medium/long-term activities. They will provide strategic leadership, strengthen governance, and work closely with the CEO/founder and Board to ensure the charity is well-positioned for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Board of Trustees, ensuring effective governance and strategic oversight
Chair Board meetings, promoting inclusive discussion and sound decision-making
Support and constructively challenge the CEO/founder in delivering the charity’s vision
Act as an ambassador for the Foundation, helping to grow its profile and partnerships
Oversee trustee engagement, development, and succession planning
Ensure the charity meets all legal and regulatory obligations
What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership experience in a board or senior executive role, ideally as a Chair for a charity
Knowledge of UK charity governance and trustee responsibilities
Strong facilitation, communication, and people skills
A collaborative leadership style and commitment to inclusion
Passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children
Time Commitment
Approximately 1–2 days per month
Preparation and hosting of bi-monthly trustee meetings (In person, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham)
Availability for ad-hoc guidance and occasional events
