Who we are
The Civil Service Retirement Fellowship is small national charity providing friendship and support to former civil servants and their dependents. It runs a number of charitable services including local community groups, befriending schemes and a freephone helpline for advice.
The role
The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees and plays a critical role in overseeing the financial affairs of the charity. The Treasurer will ensure financial stability, compliance and integrity, supporting the charity’s mission through sound financial management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight;
- Monitor the charity’s financial health and ensure financial stability;
- Budgeting and Planning;
- Work with Chief Executive to prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Trustees and relevant stakeholders;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws. o Develop and implement financial policies and procedures;
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- High level of integrity and commitment to transparency;
- Experience working with non-profit organizations or charities;
- Knowledge of fundraising and grant management;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Professional accounting qualification is a plus.
