Who we are

At The Poors’ Houses Charity we help the Woodbridge community by providing low cost housing that is held in trust for local people in housing need.


The role

​As a trustee, your role will involve ensuring the charity’s continued success and sustainability, overseeing the ongoing care of the historic properties. You will be part of a small volunteer team responsible for protecting and enhancing a vital community asset, balancing tradition with modern needs.

We require Trustees to reside in the Woodbridge, Suffolk area and be UK citizens.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the properties and residents are properly managed and cared for.
  • Safeguard the legacy of this charitable institution.
  • Guide the future direction of the Charity to meet evolving community needs.
  • Attendance a quarterly trustee meetings
