The role
Skills and Experience We’re Looking For
We’re looking for forward-thinking individuals who want to play an active role in shaping the future of YMCA Leeds and supporting the CEO and senior leadership team. You don’t need to have been a trustee before what matters is the right mindset, good judgement and a commitment to our values.
We’re particularly interested in people who can bring skills or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Education and learning – including formal education, training, community learning or youth development
- Sport, health and wellbeing – experience in sports provision, physical activity, wellbeing or community programmes
- Finance – financial management, accounting, budgeting, audit or financial oversight
- Legal – legal knowledge or experience, governance, compliance or risk management
Across all roles, we’re looking for trustees who can:
- Think strategically and contribute to long-term planning
- Support and appropriately challenge the CEO and leadership team
- Work collaboratively as part of a diverse Board
- Make balanced, well-reasoned decisions in the best interests of the charity
- Bring fresh ideas, curiosity and a genuine desire to make a positive impact
A passion for supporting communities and young people is essential.
