A Reflection on 10 Years as a B Corporation. By Ian Joseph, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Trustees Unlimited; Co-Founder, Step on Board

When Trustees Unlimited became one of the first certified B Corporations in the UK, it marked a significant moment in our journey. What I didn’t fully appreciate at the time was just how deeply that commitment would shape who we are a decade later.

From the beginning, B Corp certification has been far more than an accreditation. It has acted as our north star—a constant reminder that our success must be measured not only in financial terms, but in how we support people, strengthen communities, and care for the planet.

Each certification and re-certification has challenged us to look critically at our impact and to embed responsible, sustainable practices into our everyday decisions. It has encouraged us to prioritise transparency, engage meaningfully with stakeholders, and think with the long term firmly in mind.

Most importantly, B Corp has given us a framework for continuous improvement. It has guided us to innovate with integrity, hold ourselves accountable, and remain true to our mission even as the organisation grows and evolves.

A decade on, the benefits are clear:

  • A thriving team
  • Loyal and fulfilled clients
  • And year-on-year growth that reflects the strength of purpose-driven business

Here’s to ten years of learning, progressing, and leading with purpose—and to the next chapter of our B Corp journey.

Happy 10 years!
