Last week, some of the Trustees Unlimited and Step on Board team attended the B Lab UK 10th anniversary celebrations in London. The event was a powerful showcase of responsible leadership, social impact and the growing momentum behind organisations that use business as a force for good. These are values that sit at the heart of Trustees Unlimited’s work in strengthening governance across the charity and not for profit sector.
Held in an inspiring sustainability focused venue, the celebration brought together purpose driven organisations from across multiple industries. It offered an excellent opportunity for our team to connect with leaders driving innovation in ethical business, governance and corporate responsibility. A highlight of the day was receiving thoughtful treats from Candy Kittens, which added a fun and memorable touch to the experience.
The scale of the B Corp movement continues to grow. There are now more than 2,600 certified B Corps in the UK, forming part of a global community of more than 10,000 organisations across over 100 countries. This momentum reflects a wider commitment to transparency, accountability and purposeful governance, principles that strongly align with Trustees Unlimited’s mission.
Speakers at the event shared open and insightful reflections on their B Corp journeys. Their experiences highlighted both the challenges and the long term value of embedding sustainability, responsibility and strong governance into the core of an organisation. These stories reinforced how essential diverse, skilled leadership is in delivering meaningful social and environmental impact.
We were also pleased to meet organisations championing inspiring initiatives, from innovative sustainability programmes to community centred projects, all demonstrating the power of collaboration and shared purpose.
