Who we are

We are a charity that aims to inspire the next generation to become passionate guardians of our planet. We do this by providing the educational tools to share a brighter, more sustainable future.

We encourage young people’s understanding of the environment.

We aim to give young people (and an increasing number of adults) clear and balanced information on a wide range of environmental issues, including climate change, plastic pollution, deforestation and endangered species.

The role

Better Planet Education (BPE) is a UK based charity providing environmental education and initiatives to inspire young people to look after our world. Since the 1980’s we have provided clear and balanced information to help younger generations understand and make informed decisions on environmental matters.

We now wish to appoint someone join our small team of committed trustees to help guide and shape a sustainable future for the charity’s. To complement the professional skills we already have represented on the board, the person we are seeking will have a rounded set of capabilities, although fundraising experience would be particularly welcome.

We are looking for someone with the time available to be actively involved in supporting our director to drive new projects and initiativesIf this sounds like you, please get in touch to find out more.

For further information, please contact Peter Littlewood at info@betterplaneteducation.org.uk or 01935 315025, and you can find out more about our work by visiting https://betterplaneteducation.org.uk/.

As a trustee there is a formal requirement to attend board meetings 3-4 times a year; some will be online and some in central London. Trustees will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Better Planet Education is committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, sexuality, belief or disability. Trustee positions are not remunerated, but agreed expenses can be reclaimed.
