Who we are
At Possible, we’re on a mission to speed up action on climate change. Whether it’s our world-leading Solar Schools campaign, our work building solar powered railways, or fighting the ban on onshore wind, everything we do is about inspiring more people to take more action on climate change.
The role
Possible’s trustees play a vital role in making sure that the organisation achieves its core purpose. As a trustee at Possible you’ll provide on-going strategic direction, critical challenge and helping hands to ensure we continue to land our work with the size of impact the climate crisis demands.
Possible is about to embark on its next phase with the implementation of our new four year organisational strategy. This is a really exciting time to join the team in such an important role, and have a real impact on the successful delivery of this work.
You don’t need experience of sitting on a board to be one of our trustees (or experience of climate work or of the charity sector). We simply want interest, commitment and some kind of expertise.
In particular, we’re looking for people skilled and experienced in:
-
Relationship building and working across differences, whether that be in the context of party politics, community work, organising, or another context.
-
Networked with and/or experience working with economically disadvantaged community groups.
-
Digital communications including knowledge of strategy, social media platforms, audience development, marketing etc.
-
Approaches to climate adaptation, infrastructure or just transition.
-
Charity law and compliance.
We provide all our new trustees with full training, not just about Possible and the context of our work, but the role of a charity trustee and what’s expected of you. We’ll also offer people the opportunity to have a buddy on the board, so you have someone to ask questions to. If you’d like to discuss what it’s like to be a trustee here with a current board member, we’d be happy to fix a call.
