We work alongside families by encouraging men to be a mentor to the boys in their life. We offer a diverse programme of opportunities for men and boys to have fun, take part in adventurous activities together, and enhance their own and wider family relationships.

MAN&BOY, a dynamic charity committed to strengthening family relationships, is searching for dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help guide our future, as we consolidate our work and look to reach a wider audience.
Critical Experience We Are Actively Seeking
As we enter our next phase of growth, we are particularly looking to strengthen our Board in the following areas:
· Sector Knowledge – Experience in youth services, education (including SEND), family support, public health or policy, bringing insight into the systems our beneficiaries navigate.
· Lived Experience – Personal or direct experience of the challenges facing boys, men and families, or involvement in community based or grassroots programmes.
These perspectives are critical to ensuring our programmes reflect real-world need, strengthen our credibility with partners and funders, and deliver measurable impact.
Experience in the following areas is also highly desirable.
- Fundraising & Income Generation – Developing corporate partnerships, securing grants and leading fundraising events
- Digital Marketing – Social media and digital communications
- Technology & Data – Systems, databases and digital enablement
- Safeguarding – Policy, incident management and safeguarding leadership
- Legal & Compliance – Contract law, governance frameworks and regulatory oversight
What You’ll Do as a Trustee
· Provide strategic leadership to support sustainable growth
· Strengthen governance, compliance, and organisational effectiveness
· Expand networks, partnerships, and funding opportunities
· Support delivery excellence and measurable impact
· Act as an advocate for the importance of male role models in boy’s lives
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about strengthening families, bring relevant expertise, and are collaborative, strategic thinkers committed to impact. We value diversity of thought, skills, and experience and we strongly encourage applications from individuals with sector experience, lived experience or from underrepresented backgrounds.
Time Commitment
Quarterly Board meetings (mix of in-person and virtual), plus additional involvement reflective of your expertise.
