We conserve, maintain and operate the steamship Shieldhall for people of all ages, to enjoy and experience steam power at sea and alongside. All with unpaid volunteers. Based in Southampton, Shieldhall (No 66 in the National Historic Fleet) mainly operates, but is not restricted to the Solent area and is probably the largest steam powered cargo/passenger ship in operation, in Europe.
The role
Steamship Shieldhall Charity are looking for new trustees to replace current trustees who are coming to the end of their term. In particular we are looking for applicants with skills in chairing or being the treasurer of a charity, or those with skills in marketing, education or community engagement. However, irrespective of skills, anyone interested in the preservation of maritime heritage would be welcome to apply.
